BUSH LINK – SUPPORTED OPEN EMPLOYMENT PROJECT UPDATE
Getting “off the ground” with this innovative project in employment of
people with disabilities has been a lengthy task as many issues needed
to be addressed. After lots of work on preparation and most valuable
support from our sponsor Roche Products Pty Ltd and Warringah
Council’s Environment Department (especially Mr Jim Casimir,
Environment Officer/Community Projects) we are now well and truly
forging ahead with “full steam”. Team Leader Cathy Hockey has invested a great deal of detailed effort to
train and support our team in their professional work pursuits. We now employ 6 people part-time on the
Bush Link team and have every confidence that they will continue to prove themselves as model
employees – working hard to maintain their productivity and work pride. We aim to grow in this venture of
providing supported employment opportunities within community based, open job profiles.
