Assistant Accountant
Based on Sydney‘s Northern Beaches, Northside Enterprise Inc has an excellent reputation for providing quality, person-centred programs for adults with developmental disabilities since 1994. We offer innovative, individualised programs focusing on skill development, independent living, employment, social skills and community participation and inclusion.
The role
Are you a detail-orientated individual, who has a flare for problem solving and are looking to further develop your accounting experience in a supportive organisation? Do you want to work in an organisation that focusses on inclusion? If so, then this could be the opportunity for you!
We are currently seeking an Assistant Accountant (up to 3 days per week) to join our team for a 12-month contract (with potential for permanency). The role is autonomous in nature and the successful candidate will need to take ownership of their responsibilities and tasks.
Key responsibilities
- AR, process a medium volume of NDIS-related invoicing and make claims from the NDIS portal.
- AP, process a low volume of supplier invoicing and payments
- Bank Reconciliation
- Credit card reconciliation
- Petty Cash and reimbursement
- Process fortnightly payroll and timesheets.
- Follow up debtors and produce the month-end debtor reports.
- Assist with ad-hoc month-end task as required.
- Assist with the yearly budget and forecast.
- Support the external audit process.
Qualifications and Experience (essential)
- Accounting Degree or Tertiary qualification.
- Working experience with Australia Accounting Standards with similar responsibilities.
- Experience using Xero and MYOB.
- Intermediate Excel skills- Excel formulas, Lookup functions, Pivot table.
- High attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills.
Qualifications and Experience (highly desirable)
- Experience using the NDIS Provider Portal / PRODA and MYP platform.
